From our 2023 Impact Report:

Serena was referred to us by her vocational rehabilitation counselor, who used to work at Community Vision as a job developer. Serena was a good fit for our Employment Connections Program. She had never worked with a job developer or job coach before. But Serena knew she wanted to find a job that she really liked in a positive environment.

Serena had worked at many jobs before but never felt like she fit in. Many of her jobs were short-lived and didn’t leave her with a positive sense of self-worth as a result.

A Community Vision Employment Specialist worked with Serena to discover what her interests were. Together they visited different places to get a feel for what it would be like to work there.

After an informational interview at Old Navy, Serena told us she wanted to try to get a job there. With our support, she applied for the job and went through the interview process. Then, Serena was offered a job!

Serena has been receiving on-going job coaching since she started in May. And she is a rock star at work (and in life)!
