Measures to support accessibility

Community Vision takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our websites:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.
  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) (https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Community Vision is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Community Vision’s websites, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for CVision.org and CV-ATLab.org:

  1. Videos: Videos may not have transcripts and audio descriptions because we did not prepare transcripts for videos when they were first published. Moving forward, we intend to provide transcripts for all videos. Please contact us if you want us to prioritize a transcript for a video.
  2. Screen readers and other assistive technology (AT): For CVision.org, menus and content may not work properly on all pages because pages were created before website accessibility commitment.We are updating content so that it works with screen readers and other AT. Contact us if you want us to prioritize updating specific content.
