Community Vision’s Employment Connections Program recognized the worksites Wanke Cascade and Old Navy as Employers of the Quarter.

In April 2024, Employment Connections Manager Brandon Jones and Job Coach Hallie Chilton presented two Old Navy stores with Employer of the Quarter certificates.

Three people supported by the Employment Connections Program—Serena, CJ, and Earnisha—currently work at Old Navy, a clothing store with several Portland-area locations.

“Old Navy is very flexible and accommodating when creating jobs for the people we support,” said Employment Connections Director Dawn Bootz. “This allows them to be valued employees and do meaningful work while also being themselves.”

In August, Employment Connections awarded the Employer of the Quarter certificate to Wanke Cascade, a leading Northwest flooring distributor.

Emily, who is supported by the program, has worked for Wanke Cascade in their Swan Island warehouse since June 2022.

This September, Emily’s coworkers marked her birthday with a big cake and a personalized gift basket. Emily loves celebrating her birthday, so this meant a lot to her.

“Wanke Cascade is a wonderful employer,” said Dawn. “Emily is really part of the team there.”
