Community Vision believes that every individual has the right to pursue a meaningful job path, regardless of perceived ability. There are two primary ways in which we do this work.
Community Vision’s Employment Connections Program (ECP) builds long-term financial stability among the men and women we support. We work with program participants and business partners to design jobs collaboratively. Instead of seeing job creation as charity or philanthropy, both employees and managers appreciate the shared need to achieve shared goals. Because employment support is included in a wraparound service plan, CVI participants are able to access programs, including financial literacy and asset development and homeownership assistance that complement ECP’s goals. Our Future Assets for Independence program is an innovative way to promote smart personal finances within our community. Asset building allows individuals with low-income to accumulate savings and invest in long-term assets, like education, homeownership, microenterprise and adaptive technology. Not only do the individual development accounts offered through our Future Assets for Independence program offer a great way to maximize earnings from a job, the matched savings can be used to purchase equipment and services to break down barriers to employment.
