Make a Financial Contribution:

While any amount goes a long way in helping our program work succeed, your support at the $50, $75, and $125 levels make an enormous difference to the men and women Community Vision supports.

$50 pays for a Employment Connections participant’s monthly travel between home and work

$75 pays for one student to enroll in financial literacy classes for an IDA program.

$125 buys all of the materials needed for an average Work Party.

Donate a Gift: The people in our programs often do not have extra money for the small luxuries that make life in the Metro area so enjoyable. Donated gift cards to restaurants or grocery stores, movie tickets, sporting events, performing arts or museum passes, haircut certificates, or posters, music and DVDs make life’s small pleasures possible. We maintain a wish list with very specific requests as well.

What’s New?

-Longtime CVI participant Jim S. recently purchased his own Portland home
Jim was part of a landmark lawsuit establishing his right to direct his own care,
and we’re proud of him for taking another huge step toward independence!
-Chris F. is proud to announce the launch of Chris’s EcoFriendly Cleaning
Business. Read more on how he got started, and how you can hire him to
clean your home, business, or event.

- Turnout at the Harvest Century, Community Vision’s biggest event of the
year, was a huge success, with 1,411 riders- about 200 more than last year We
raised nearly $40,000 this year, thanks to the hard work of staff, volunteers,
and many sponsors, including presenting sponsor Showers Pass.
- Asset Building Program (ABP) Director Rebecca Miller has left the
Development Department to run ABP as its own program. She’s off to a great
start, with a new grant from Oregon Accessibility Loan Fund

-Melissa, who accesses CVI’s Supported Living Services, had a starring role in
PHAME Academy’s production of Grease! this summer.

- The recently remodeled house at Sumner Street has gone back on the
market. It’s a terrific property for anyone in Northeast Portland.
